Já classificado para a semifinal da Taça Guanabara, o Flamengo encara neste domingo o Nova Iguaçu, no estádio Mané Garrincha. O duelo será uma espécie de “treino de luxo” para Paulo César Carpegiani observar os atletas que estão iniciando mais uma temporada no Rubro-Negro.

Mesmo com as finais da Taça Guanabara se aproximando, o foco na Gávea é todo na estreia da Libertadores, que será no fim desse mês, contra o River Plate (ARG). Com isso, Carpegiani quer entrosar os seus atletas e contra o Nova Iguaçu alguns nomes devem estrear em 2018.

Everton e Diego ainda não entraram em campo em 2018 e partida desse domingo contra o Nova Iguaçu deve marcar o reencontro da dupla com a torcida do Flamengo. Outro que deve estar à disposição do treinador é Trauco.

O volante Willian Arão, o capitão Réver, Diego Alves e Dourado são outros nomes que os torcedores querem ver em campo, mas ainda não será possível neste domingo. O goleiro César falou sobre os desfalques, mas garantiu o elenco focado em buscar mais três pontos na competição.

– Acredito que todos estão empenhados para voltar o mais rápido possível. Tem a evolução de cada um. A torcida quer ver todo mundo, mas o treinador no momento certo, vai colocar as peças e vamos fazer uma grande temporada – disse.

A apresentação de Valdívia como reforço não foi a única atração desta sexta-feira no CT da Barra Funda. Kaká, que anunciou aposentadoria no fim do ano, visitou as dependências do São Paulo e tirou foto que chamou atenção nas redes sociais do clube.

O melhor jogador do mundo em 2007 posou com Raí, hoje diretor executivo de futebol do Tricolor, o recém-contratado Valdívia, Lugano, atualmente superintendente de relações institucionais do clube, e Luis Fabiano, que está se tratando de cirurgia no joelho direito no CT.

O São Paulo aproveitou a imagem para interagir com torcedores em seu Twiiter oficial com a mensagem “Como você definiria esse grupo: #poko________?”

Nessa quinta-feira, em evento da Federação Paulista de Futebol, o presidente Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva não descartou a volta de Luis Fabiano ao clube. Three players all came out with the same 6.4 rating, although Manuel Lanzini has been omitted as he was given less than 60 minutes worth of game time.

As such, Dawson takes third place. The centre-back struggled on the ball, having lost possession 15 times. Out of 12 long balls he played, only two were successful, and he failed to record any key passes, shots or dribbles throughout the match.

Jarrod Bowen – 6.4/10

Despite having an excellent season so far, Bowen also received a 6.4 rating on Sunday.

The winger failed to make an impact on the match, having had just 22 touches of the ball, proceeding to lose possession eight times against the Bees.

The 25-year-old did not take a single shot all afternoon, also failing in the final third in his attempt to pull off a single successful dribble.

Michail Antonio – 6.3/10

Antonio was ranked as West Ham’s worst starter against Brentford, being given a 6.3 rating.

The striker failed to take a single shot throughout the match, adding to his ongoing drought which now stands at 12 league games without a goal.

The 32-year-old struggled to provide an attacking outlet for the Hammers, failing to succeed in either of his two dribble attempts. Having touched the ball on 26 occasions, Antonio lost possession 10 times, capping a poor display for the Irons’ only senior striker.

Northamptonshire, whose season has tailed off badly, collapsed to 198 all outwith only James Middlebrook’s 62 and Lee Daggett’s 48 off as many balls providing some semblance of resistance.Spinner Naik claimed figures of 4 for 58 and 19-year-old seamer Nathan Buck took 3 wickets as Leicestershire ensured themselves a top-half finish in Division Two. The visitors did have to bat a second time, but needing just a single run Matt Boyce took just one ball to seal the win with a boundary.Northamptonshire started the day on 10 for 1, 188 runs behind their opponents, with Mal Loye and Alex Wakely resuming on four and two respectively. Wakely was only able to make it to six, however, before Buck forced him to edge to Leicestershire wicketkeeper Tom New, who took a good catch to his right.David Sales made nine before being bowled by Matthew Hoggard in the following over to give the Leicestershire captain his 50th wicket in the County Championship this season. Northamptonshire’s miserable morning continued when Loye (15) edged Harry Gurney to Matthew Boyce at first slip to leave them floundering on 39 for 4.Rob Newton, who made a century in his first innings, made it to 18 before missing his attempted pull off Gurney and playing on to his stumps. Daggett was bowled by Naik just two runs short of his maiden half-century with the scores level meaning Leicestershire needed a single run to win and Boyce smashed the first ball off Wakely for four to seal it in double-quick time.

HIs representative is now expected back in Turin ‘in the next few hours’, where they will discuss with Dybala about the information that they gathered.

The Verdict: Sign

Dybala is out of contract in the summer, and so to sign him on a free transfer would represent an absolute bargain.

Currently rated at £36m by Transfermarkt, he has previously been lauded as ‘world-class‘ by former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson, having won five Serie A titles with Juve and recorded over 200 combined goals and assists for club and country.

Nonetheless, at 28 years of age, the Argentina international is in his prime, and so now is the perfect time for the Tyneside outfit to snap him up. Signing a high level player for no initial transfer fee is a masterclass whichever way you look at it.
